The front on the outside has a small piece turquoise raised outward of the bell. Turquoise has been believed and used for generations as a way to ward off evil, healing, and spiritual enlightenment. The Fred Harvey Era was a period, roughly from 1900 to the mid-1900s, when the Fred Harvey Company, founded by Fred Harvey, flourished, particularly in the American Southwest, known for its Native American-inspired jewelry and hospitality along the Santa Fe Railroad.
